Saddle Advice

Postby mmajka » Thu Jun 08, 2006 10:09 am

I am in the market for a new saddle for my road bike. My current one is killing me. On long rides I have an incredible level of discomfort and when I ride a few days in a row, after 2-3 days I am suffering. I have begun to shop around, but there are so many choices at so many different price levels.

I am obviously looking for something light enough to be a good race saddle, but am more interested in something that will provide comfort on long rides.

If anyone has any advice or direction please share. Any particular brand I should be leaning toward, how much should I expect to spend? I have seen what seems to a bunch of good ones for around $70-$90 is this a good range.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

mmajka, I started riding the Selle Italia Flite Gel saddle on my road bike last year and really dig it. Liked it so much also go one for the mt. bike. It costs about 100bucks but is money well spent, my .02$

Hey Matt, I've run the Selle Flite on both my road and mt. bikes over the years and it's very comfy & pretty light. You'll see it on a lot of the pro riders rigs as well. Good luck with those buns of steel
